J. Crew Dances with Fervor

Phoenix, AZ is not the first place you think of when it comes to 1960s Soul music. However, in retrospect the desert truly was a hotbed of funkiness. Producer “Mighty Mike” Lenaburg produced and released quite a few classics from Phoenix Soul acts back in the day. In 2008 another Phoenix label, Fervor Records, acquired Lenaburg’s catalog and the songs have been resonating across film, television and advertising ever since. American fashion retailer J. Crew has picked “Soul Skate,” a 1967 single by The Soulsations, originally released on Mighty Mike’s Out Of Sight Records, as the backdrop for their new multi-media campaign, “How To Find Your Perfect-fitting Chino.” Check it out on YouTube, and experience “Soul Skate” across AppleAmazonSpotify & beyond.
