Prince Avalanche Debuts At Sundance With 1980’s Gems From Fervor
David Gordon Green’s latest effort, Prince Avalanche, includes two 80’s tracks from the Fervor Vintage line, but has been a closely guarded secret for months until it debuted at Sundance this week.
Starring A-listers Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch, this quiet contemplative film from the director of mega-hit Pineapple Express has been quickly embraced by critics at the indie film festival and is being called “an unconventional, ultimately rather sweet buddy pic that’s an audiovisual treat” by Variety’s Dennis Harvey.
Featured in the notable soundtrack is “Loud N’ Restless”, by Arizona arena-rock band Loosely Tight, which is on the Fervor Records release The Best of Loosely Tight.
Also in the mix are Minneapolis pop-funksters Westside, with their single “The Sweep”, which earned them high ranks on Ed McMahon’s Star Search in its heyday. Though this song is not commercially released on Fervor, here’s a video from their television performance of “The Sweep”.
