Zeni was part of the emerging Phoenix, AZ hip-hop scene in the 1990s. Rapper Mr. Zeni and vocalist Cheniqua blended hip-hop, R&B, and soul, putting their distinctive stamp on the era’s sound. Drawing influences from Paul Oakenfold to fellow Phoenician CeCe Peniston, the duo was produced by the critically acclaimed 2 Tha Groove Productions.
