Beyoncé kicks off her Cowboy Carter World Tour on April 28th in Inglewood, CA. Featured in the show is Linda Martell’s 1970 recording “Bad Case of the Blues,” as performed on the hit country music variety show Hee Haw. The recording, written by BMI Award-winning songwriters Margaret Lewis and Mira Smith, made history with Martell, who was the first commercially successful Black female country artist and the first to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. Martell was an inspiration to Beyoncé and is also featured on her album Cowboy Carter. Fervor is proud to represent the works of the late, great Margaret Lewis and Mira Smith and to continue to perpetuate their remarkable legacies.
