The Fervor Compound: A Creative Ecosystem

The Sunnyslope headquarters is a unique hybrid of vintage soul and modern output, housing several specialized facilities that have served as the epicenter of operations since 2001:

Fervor HQ

Home to the offices of David Hilker and Jeff Freundlich, the facility also houses:

Wild Whirled Recording

The heart of Fervor’s musical productivity since 1991. Armed with an arsenal of analog outboard gear, vintage effects, multitrack tape machines, Pro Tools, and digital restoration tools, it is currently helmed by Head Engineer Thomas Bowen.

The Bomb Shelter – Sunnyslope

Established in 2009 to provide indie artists a “no-pressure” environment away from the ticking studio clock. Loaded with vintage guitars, amps, speaker cabs, stomp boxes, analog outboard gear, and an impressive microphone cabinet, the studio was originally run by the late local legend Donald “DR” Wilke; it is now led by Scottish industry veteran Mic Quinn.

The Launch Pad

Acquired in 2013, this facility houses administrative offices and the Fervor Fitness Center, and is home to:

Studio C

Established in 2022, this pre-production and editing suite is helmed by engineer Keagan Stromberg.

Studio D

Set to launch in Fall 2026, this will be the dedicated studio for the Fervor Records podcast, focusing on the label’s rich archival history.

All studios are seamlessly integrated for maximum workflow and productivity.

The Listening Lounge

Separately housed in a fourth building, this is a strictly “no screen zone.” Equipped with vintage hi-fi gear, it is designed specifically for critical listening and meaningful conversation.

The Archives

Deep within an underground bunker lies the historical treasury of Arizona’s recording legacy. Fervor serves as the custodian of the Floyd Ramsey Audio Recorders of Arizona archives, featuring original master tapes from labels including Liberty Bell, REV, MCI, ARA, and Ramco. The collection also features iconic labels such as Viv and Epiphany, and showcases the work of legendary producers including Jack Miller, Loy Clingman, Chuck Hauke, Lee Hazlewood, and many others.
