Dandelion Wine

After the demise of their prominent SoCal ’80s new wave outfit Simplistics, lead vocalist Skaie Knox (a.k.a. Kris Karr and Kris Skaie) and guitarist Steve Schroeder (a.k.a. Steve St. George) were ready to move in a new direction. The San Diego duo formed Dandelion Wine, whose efforts caught the attention of music mogul David Geffen. A demo deal was signed, introducing them to producer Brad Bailey. The group recorded an EP with Bailey, who was instrumental in developing their songwriting skills and creative identity. Blending passionate lyrics with lush harmonies, the band performed at coffeehouses and Hollywood Strip venues, including the Whisky, the Roxy, and Madame Wong’s. Dandelion Wine completed two six-week college tours, sharing the stage with artists such as Tori Amos, Stephen Bishop, and Dishwalla. By the mid-1990s, the duo parted ways with Geffen, and in 1995, they released their album NorthSouthEastWest. Fervor Records is now home to some of the finest selections from their catalog.
