Born in the Ottawa Valley, the musically gifted Doug Barr found his way to The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and completed eight years of study on piano. However, when he discovered his uncle’s beat-up guitar, he decided to apply his years of in-depth music study, dive into the world of pop music, and write his own material. Already blessed with great vocal ability, he continued to expand his musical influences and shape his songwriting approach. Fusing elements of pop, folk, jazz, and funk, Doug Barr hit the studio, delivering a brilliant example of 1970s soft rock. Fervor Records is proud to have some of Doug’s finest recordings from the late ’70s in its repertoire.
