Margaret Lewis: 1939 – 2019

Fervor Records mourns the loss of BMI Award-winning songwriter, and former Capitol Records recording artist, Margaret Lewis. Her incredible career also included penning hits for Jeannie C. Riley, Johnny Adams, Narvel Felts and Connie Francis, to name but a few. Fervor Records COO, Jeff Freundlich, says “To know Maggie was to love her. Dave Hilker and I always enjoyed Maggie’s countless stories about performing on The Louisiana Hayride, what it was like to be a pioneering woman of Rock n’ Roll, writing hits on Nashville’s Music Row in the 1960s, her integral role in Mira Smith’s Ram Records, and of course, her deep, deep love of Elvis Presley.” Fervor records is honored to perpetuate the amazing legacy of the legendary Margaret “Maggie” Lewis.
