There was no shortage of groups named The Shags in the mid 1960s. There were Shags all across the country. The Shags from New Haven, Connecticut, however, were by far the most well-known, recorded and successful; and they actually hold the registered trademark of the name for performing musical groups.

The Shags released 6 singles and left several unreleased tracks. This compilation includes 5 previously-unissued tracks by The Shags, 5 cool bonus tracks – including 2 previously-issued tracks by Pulse, the band that evolved when The Shags broke up; plus a 16-page booklet with the complete “Story of The Shags.”
