17 Candle was a four-piece pop/rock powerhouse known for their impassioned vocals, infectious melodies, and emotionally charged songwriting. Formed in 2001 at the University of Northern Iowa, the band quickly gained a devoted following across the state with their dynamic live performances and memorable songs. Within a year, they released their debut EP, Keepers of the Flame, and made the bold move to Orlando, Florida, where they attracted interest from management teams behind major acts like Pink, NSYNC, and the Backstreet Boys. While based in the South, the band recorded their second EP, Last Call, and landed high-profile gigs, including the 2002 Bud Light National Beach Volleyball Championship and the 2003 Orange Bowl. 17 Candle earned widespread praise from critics throughout the Midwest and was invited to perform at both regional and national events, culminating in a headlining spot at the 2010 Capital One Bowl All-American Halftime Show. A selection of the band’s 2003 recordings now lives on through Fervor Records.
