Midwest axe-slinger Craig Erickson learned to play guitar while working in his father’s record store in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He formed his first band at 13 and began playing around the area. Erickson released his first album in 1992 and with over 20 albums to his credit, he has melded his 60s and 70s blues, jazz, rock and funk influences into his own unique and distinct sound. Craig has written for, and performed with, a literal who’s who of musician’s musicians including Koko Taylor, Elvin Bishop, T. Lavitz, Glenn Hughes, Buddy Miles, Mickey Thomas, Chris Duarte Little Ed & the Blues Imperials, Lonnie Brooks and Trapeze to name just a few. He, has appeared on tribute albums to Stevie Ray Vaughan and Albert King and also co-wrote and played on “Blues”, the solo album by Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Trapeze). Erickson’s half dozen solo releases on Shrapnel Records are legendary and propelled him to international guitar hero status. Continued international tours, gear endorsements and Shrapnel Records tribute albums have kept the momentum moving for Craig. With over 20 albums to his credit, Craig Erickson has been an in-demand singer, songwriter, session player and solo artist for decades.
