Seattle based New Wave/Power Pop outfit Blackwood-Laird formed in 1981. The duo, consisting of vocalist/keyboardist Maggie Laird and guitarist vocalist Morgan Blackwood, immediately started churning out fun, infectious synth/guitar driven Pop. Armed with a small arsenal of songs Blackwood-Laird was ready to hit record. Blackwood enlisted producer Peter Barnes to share production duties and the group laid down tracks at both Pacific West Recorders in Redmond, and The Music Farm in their native Seattle. The end result was their debut self-titled EP which found release on the King Tut label the same year.
The prolific twosome continued writing and recording their unique brand of contagious jams through 1987. Fervor Records is now the proud home of Blackwood-Laird’s incredible slice of the 1980s!
