Len Boone

Singer, songwriter and multi-Instrumentalist Len Boone honed his career while in college. The multi-talented Boone was also Cornerback for his college football team the Rutgers Scarlett Knights. Music, however, was his main passion and Len took full advantage of the offseason to devote to his music career. Traveling to nearby New York, Len’s days were spent gigging around the Big Apple and knocking on record company doors.

The charismatic songwriter soon caught the attention of industry luminaries, including Marv Goodman and Ralph Murphy, who taught him the ins and outs of the business. In 1976, Boone landed a songwriting deal with Chrysalis Records, ultimately penning The Bay City Rollers top 10 hit “You Made Me Believe In Magic,” and Maxine Nightingale’s “You Got To Me.”

Boone’s chart-topping success parlayed into a solo artist recording contract with Chrysalis Records in 1977. The accolades continued as Len’s “Love Won’t Be Denied” became a top 10 Dance hit. His song “There’s No Me Without You” was prominently featured in the film “The Bitch” starring Joan Collins. The late 70s also found Len working with many Chrysalis label-mates including Pat Benatar.

In early 1980, Len joined Love-Zager Productions as a staff writer. Len’s writing partners included Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS. He also teamed with songerwriter Larry LaFalce. The duo landed covers with The Spinners, Cissy and Whitney Houston, Elusion, Lip Service, Alvin Fields, and Amii Stewart’s 1981 hit “Why’d Ya Have To Be So Sexy.”

Many lesser known gems from Len Boone’s 70s and 80s catalog now reside at Fervor Records. Len’s incredible songwriting and dynamic vocal talents continue to resonate with audiences worldwide via international retail, film, television, streaming and beyond!
