In 1975 Mariachi singer/songwriter Chilo Escobedo journeyed from Phoenix, AZ to Mexico City. Chilo had sessions booked at EMI Studios to record his songs with the world renown ensemble Mariachi Vargas. The result was the album “Sus Voz Y Sus Canciones.” EMI pressed the LP and Mr. Escobedo headed back to Phoenix with his masterpiece in hand. 43 years later the award winning FX series “The Americans” will feature “Quiñce Años” from Mr. Escobedo’s 1975 release.
