Awkward (MTV) Airs 1978 Vintage Cut “Boogie Mama”, Offers Free Download

(R): Jay Ramsey (2nd in from the right) with his band Expression in the late 70’s

Popular MTV teen comedy Awkward is well into its second season and has just been renewed for a third.  The show follows ‘invisible’ loner Jenna as she navigates her way through the web of social entanglement that is high school whilst weathering the storm of an embarrassing over-glammed mother.

Awkward episode 208 features an unreleased vintage track from the Fervor archives during a highly-anticipated wedding scene.  The deliciously retro “Boogie Mama” by Jay Ramsey, was recorded in 1978 with his band Expression (pictured above), and will be available as a free download on the show’s soundtrack page.

Scheduled for Thursdays, immediately after Jersey Shore spinoff Snooki and JWOWW, Awkward has solidified its spot in the league of campus programming.

Tune in tonight, August 16th (10:30/9:30c), to hear Ramsey’s “Boogie Mama”, and grab your free download of the exclusive track from MTV.com.
