Sanford Clark burst onto the national scene in 1956, lighting up radio airwaves with his recording of Lee Hazlewood’s “The Fool.” The song peaked at #14 on the Billboard Country Singles chart, #7 on the Top 100 chart, and #5 on the Black Singles Charts. Sanford continued his recording career with releases on Dot, Jaime, Ramco, Ember, London, and LHI Records. He also kept busy touring with the likes of Roy Orbison and Ray Price.
