The Bridge (FX) Bears Eddy Eldon Tune This Wednesday
FX recently premiered a brand new TV series called The Bridge, and has handpicked a song from the Fervor Records Vintage Masters catalog for the 3rd episode.
Based on the Scandanavian series Bron, the American drama is set on the borderlands of El Paso and Juarez, starring Diane Kruger (Troy, National Treasure) and Damien Bichir (Che, Weeds) as law enforcement officers from each side.
This week’s edition will feature Second To You, a 1968 recording by Arizona Country crooner Eddy Eldon.
This lonely Waltz, which was Eldon’s Ramco Records debut, features his charismatic Elvis-like voice on top of some lap-steel twang accented with a little Spanish guitar with the refrain:
“Wherever you go, and whatever you do…all the good things in life is a second to you.”
The dusty borderland drama airs episode 103 “Rio” this Wednesday July 24th @ 10pm, and will include Eddy Eldon’s Country ballad, available on the Fervor Records release Vintage Country, 1957-1969
