Fervor Records was founded in 1989 by David Hilker and a few friends. The goal was to unite the local music community while helping the homeless. Initially operating under the non-profit status of Central Arizona Shelter Services, the label put together a multi-genre, multi-artist compilation of Christmas music. Southwest Holiday was released on cassette and sold well over 4,000 units in six weeks. All man-hours, products, and services were donated, with 100% of the proceeds going to the less fortunate. 

Fervor continued with multiple compilations and indie releases. Fast-forward a couple of decades and the label is home to a select roster of emerging indie bands, heritage artists, and an incredible array of cult hits, deep cuts, and rarities from the 1920s to the current day. 

With a deep respect for our shared musical past, Team Fervor’s expertise in analog and digital recording and restoration allows exploration far beyond digging through record crates by going directly to the original source: the tapes. With meticulous care, our archival process unearths hidden gems literally never heard beyond the studio walls where they were recorded. We are honored to introduce this music to new generations of fans and perpetuate the legacies of our artists and songwriters worldwide. 

Fervor is also proud to work with historic labels, including Sun Records and Time/Mainstream, as well as many of the most respected reissue labels in the US and overseas. 

Since 2019, Fervor Records’ publishing entity, Whirled Music Publishing, Inc., has been a member of the National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA). We are proud to have earned a place within Team 100, an elite circle of the top 100 music publishing companies in the United States chosen for their leadership, influence, and commitment to shaping the future of our industry.
