Bates Motel, Reconsider Me

In 1968 hit songwriting team Margaret Lewis and Grace Tennessee penned “Reconsider Me.” After cutting a demo in Nashville, Maggie and Grace got to work pitching their wares. “Reconsider Me” was covered 4 times, by 4 artists and charted in Billboard 6 times in 9 years! In 1969 Johnny Adams’ version hit #8 on the Hot R&B Chart, and #28 on the Hot 100. The same year Ray Pillow’s cover peaked at #38 on the Hot Country Singles Chart. In 1971 John Wesly Ryles cut the tune and once again it hit #39 on the Hot Country Singles Chart. Finally in 1975 Narvel Felts version peaked at #2 on the Hot Country Singles Chart, #67 on the Hot 100, and reached #1 on the Canadian RPM Country Tracks chart. On March 20th A&E’s psychological horror drama “Bates Motel” will feature Maggie and Grace’s original 1968 recording of the song.
