Ray Donovan, By the Black Sea the White Rose

Long running Showtime hit “Ray Donovan” will feature a rare recording from the vaults of Fervor Records. Heard in Episode 608: “Who Once Was Dead” is “By The Black Sea The White Rose” by The Western Rangers. The song was written by Alice Nadine and Morrie Morrison. The Morrisons are legendary Seattle music impresarios who in the 1920s established the city’s first record label, Morrison Records. Fervor Records acquired much of the label’s archive and continues to perpetuate this incredible Seattle legacy. Catch “Ray Donovan” on December 16th, and experience the sound of Morrison Records on the Fervor Records release “Vintage Masters: Post WW1 Gramophone Era” available across Apple, Amazon, Spotify and beyond!
