The brainchild of songwriter/guitarist Bennett Young, Tengo Suerte burst onto the Phoenix music scene in 2024. The band quickly built a buzz around Tempe’s ASU campus, parlaying house party gigs into club dates and opening slots for national acts, including Pearl and The Oysters. Their high-octane live show blends Young’s distinctive guitar work with frontman Ben Gugger’s powerful vocals, backed by a rock-solid rhythm section of Chaz Garcia (guitar), Tommy Halvorsen (bass), and Hayden Lamm (drums).

The enterprising Young leveraged his day job at Fervor Records to pitch his song “That’s What They All Say” to the label. Tengo Suerte soon found themselves laying down tracks at Fervor’s Sunnyslope studio compound, resulting in their debut Fervor Records single.
