Bio

In the early-1980s San Francisco’s Robin & The Rocks quickly made a name for themselves. Led by lead vocalist Robin Pearl, the quintet played a guitar-driven brand of Power Pop that danced around the edges of New Wave with big time hooks and clever lyrics. The band soon caught the attention of San Rafael label Dublab Records and entered Sausalito’s legendary Record Plant. Teamed with famed producer Bonnie Hayes they recorded their debut effort Unknown Lover. The LP was released in 1983 and garnered tremendous acclaim and radio airplay in their native Bay Area.

The band returned to the studio in 1985 to record new material which was recently unearthed and released by Fervor Records on the album American Excess. A quick listen will remind the regulars at Bill Graham’s legendary San Francisco club, Wolfgang’s, where Robin & The Rocks was a mainstay in the Northern California scene. Fervor Records is proud to add this rich slice of 1980s San Francisco to the roster!
