Bio

SoCal Alternative Christian Rock band, The Choir, has been gracing stages across North America and Europe since 1982. Originally known as Youth Choir, the band signed with Broken Records and in 1985 released the LP Voices In The Shadows. In 1986 the band issued the LP Shades Of Gray on the Shadow label. That same year they changed their moniker to The Choir and inked with the well respected Christian label Myrrh (Amy Grant, Phil Keaggy, Petra, Phillip Bailey). The Choir released four albums on Myrrh from 1986 – 1990, they also found release on Word and Epic. Lead singer Derri Daugherty is a master of the class alternative sound and possesses range that is comfortable singing a straight up rocker, a soulful ballad, or swinging, early REM-type alterna-pop hit. Fervor Records is now the proud home to many of The Choirs’ early 1980s recordings, their 1993 CD Kisses and Killers, the 1994 CD The Speckled Bird, and their 2018 release Kissers and Killers – The Acoustic Sessions.
